<image:caption>In contrast to the intimacy of mapped space in two dimensions, my installations are three-dimensional environments in which you can walk—explore--respond. Aspects of my drawings are further developed with architectural guidelines and expand materially. Scrim walls, cords and flexible divisions of space align or overlap to shift perception as you move into a central location. The enveloping atmosphere of translucent material filters exterior awareness leading to a gestalt of writing, marking, tracing, silence, and sometimes unexpected calm.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hundreds of pieces of chalk suspended on shimmering nylon cords formed the central core of chalk talk. Tiered layers of weighted string defined a fluid boundary of passage and an interactive writing system surrounded by black walls. Viewers quickly understood that they could use the stretchy chalk lines and blackboard surfaces to join an on-going conversation. Nothing was erased, rather like graffiti, walls filled with overlapping comments, responses, drawings, marks and gestures. Chalk lines tangled and were untangled/ tended by participants as they used the interactive space.</image:caption>
