artist statement:
trans-location: call and response
| Self-measurement intrigues me. Reading about studies using cell phones to track human mobility, I became interested in their mapped graphics of repeated patterns of movement over time and location. Conversation being the unseen part of this mix corresponded to my previous works involving communication. The system within translocation: call and response aligns as tensioned entities move together forming complex push/ pull choreographies of compression and release. |
commonplaces ; synapse
| Over the past few years, short-term networks of people, conversations and political actions have been conceptual subjects resulting in drawings on cloth or paper that give spatial dimension to human behavior. Each becomes a schema of interaction, entanglement, memory and contemplation mapped as a progression through the space of material. |
