Within genetics, just as with words and life itself, a slip and the meaning turns.  SNPs/slips is a series of 21 works in total. Found, altered in every aspect, tissue-thin dictionary pages have been sliced and stacked forming an unreadable pattern. Each new “slice” is framed together with the cover from which it was removed. The covers have been flattened and laser-engraved, gaining a text (or poem) composed from collections of written slips of speech and paired with letter sequences from genome mapping referred to as a SNP-- an acronym pronounced” snip” – indicating a mutation or slip of order compared to the norm.
